It’s so much fun to see Dalia’s project come together. She started this gorgeous quilt in the Prickly Pear class taught by Gretchen Veteran, a Judy Niemeyer Certified Instructor. This was Dalia’s first Judy Niemeyer quilt.
The Prickly Pear is a great introduction to Judy Niemeyer quilts. It’s basically New York Beauty blocks interspersed with squares, with a border comprised of flying geese blocks.
Dalai finished assembling the New York Beauty blocks at home and brought the quilt in to the shop to show us her progress.
Now, on to the flying geese border!
Well, she finished the flying geese border while she was sick (if you can believe it) and then dropped into the shop the other day to pick out the perfect outer border. Now she’s going to quilt it herself on her own longarm. Nicely done, Dalia!
The Prickly Pear is one of the many patterns featured in the Geese Migrations book. Foundation papers for each of the patterns are sold separately.
